Gillette nodding Dad advert

What is that advert all about? First the son fixes the PC, Dad nods. Then he shows him how to program his phone, Dad nods (grins too). Then he shows Dad how to download tunes to his mp3 player, dorky nod. Cuts to Dad getting Gillette razor and son comes in to sight, nodding! He's got it too! Nod-it is. Must be spread by gillette raors, so I ain't getting one of those. I'll stick to Wilkinson Sword thanks.

Left or Right Hand Brain...

Brain Lateralization Test Results
Right Brain |||||||||||| 46%
Left Brain |||||||||||||| 60%
*results won't usually add up to 100% as this test measures each side seperately

Left brain dominant individuals are more orderly, literal, articulate, and to the point. They are good at understanding directions and anything that is explicit and logical. They can have trouble comprehending emotions and abstract concepts, they can feel lost when things are not clear, doubting anything that is not stated and proven.

Right brain dominant individuals are more visual and intuitive. They are better at summarizing multiple points, picking up on what's not said, visualizing things, and making things up. They can lack attention to detail, directness, organization, and the ability to explain their ideas verbally, leaving them unable to communicate effectively.

Overall I appear to be Left Brain Dominant, and yet I'm left handed which is controlled by my right hand brain...

Would you agree?

Note: According to Darwinian theory, optimal evolution takes place with random variation and selective retention. The evolution savvy individual will try many different approaches when faced with a problem and select the best of those approaches. Many historical intellectuals have confessed their advantage was simply considering/exploring/trying more approaches than others. The left brain dominant type suffers from limited approaches, narrow-mindedness. The right brain dominant type suffers from too many approaches, scatterbrained. To maintain balanced hemispheres, you need to exercise both variability and selection. Just as a company will have more chance of finding a great candidate by increasing their applicant pool, an individual who considers a wider set of options is more likely to make quality decisions.

Avatar Montage

I love my new avatar, while it is a montage of earlier blogs I just feel the need to write about it. At the moment it is in use on the forum that I mainly post on 'sv650.org', which is mainly bikers who have the same bike as me. Funnily enough a Suzuki SV650, of which you'll find more about on my other blog 'Bikers View'.
Back to the avatar, I just the love the way it flicks through my expression. Giving you breath glimpse... ain't great... not to many expressions, just enough. I'm sure I could do more, but that would be too much.

They called him Hugh

Hugh Jackman that is... Jax tells me that he looks like me. Lucky man that he is, not that I see it. Though I do get the pleasure of stairing at this face everyday so what do I know, the stud that I am.
So what do you think? Who's who?

Slip sliding away.

Last week we took PJ to the park at the bottom of our street, and after a few minutes he got the hang of using the slide. Though this was his first attempt, which as you can see wasn't quite right...
